We at EQEcon believe that personal information should never end up in the hands of advertisers, junk mailers, or anyone else on the Internet. This statement details what information we collect about you, who has access to it, and what it is used for.

1. What personally identifiable information is collected?

• (a) Information you give us: Account information, survey submissions, Credit Card information, email correspondence
• (b) Information you post publicly: Forum posts, poll answers
• (c) Information from our logs: IP address, geographical location, time and duration of use, content viewed

2. Who has access to this information?

Information of type (a) and (c) are only available to EQEcon and Helix Systems Incorporated and will never be sold to third parties, advertisers or released over the Internet in non-aggregate form. Personal information such as your name, home address, and Credit Card information, and password will only be sent over a SSL secured encrypted connection, to protect your privacy from malicious parties. Only the last 4 digits of your Credit Card number will ever be displayed. Your email address will never appear publicly on the site.

Information of type (b) is posted publicly by you, and can be read by anyone, along with your username. For your own protection, please do not post any personally identifiable information to public forums.

Aggregate statistical information may be made public, but will never contain any personally identifiable information (eg. subscription statistics, usage statistics and trends)

3. How will this information be used?

• To provide the service: Personal and billing information will be used by us to collect payment for the service, engage in communication with you about your account, and to customize content on the site
• To analyze trends in usage: Usage information will be analyzed to better gauge server needs, improve site performance and usefulness, and analyze trends in usage
• To prevent account sharing and other misuse: Geographical location, obtained from IP addresses in our logs, will be used to identify accounts being used by multiple persons, in violation of our Terms of Service. These accounts will recieve one(1) warning prior to termination without refund. Other log data will be analyzed to detect and prevent misuse such as denial of service attacks and users placing unreasonable load on our systems. This is done for the benefit of other users.

4. How is my information kept secure?

Your personal information will never be sent over the internet via an insecure connection. All pages which display or collect this information use SSL encrypted connections, and all administrative transfer of data occurs via secure methods. Of course, all Credit Card transactions are also conducted securely.

5. How are children protected?

Our service and accounts are not available to children under the age of 13. While we will make every attempt to ensure the content on this site is suitable for any age, we cannot guarantee the appropriateness of all user-posted content. If you, as a parent or guardian, sign up for an account on behalf of your minor child, it is your responsibility to ensure that they do not post any personally identifiable information publically (type (b) above).
